Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Responsible for development, coordination and administration of technical, safety and environmental training. Interprets and advises field supervision of operational codes, standards and local, state and federal laws to ensure understanding and compliance. Responsible for the coordination, implementation, training and compliance of company safety and technical rules and regulations. Maintains records and documentation of all training, testing, evaluations, audits and surveys as required by the Company and Federal Regulators.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a working knowledge of technical training concepts and principles normally acquired through an apprenticeship program; or a working knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures, OSHA, Workers Compensation, and other state and federal safety standards at a level normally acquired through the completion of a two-year degree in vocational or technical training; or equivalent related work experience; and
Five years of experience in the field of electric production, distribution and transmission.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
Required to maintain a valid drivers license.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
Possess or acquire a valid commercial drivers license appropriate for the position within 6 months of hire. (NOTE: Must be 21 to acquire a CDL valid for interstate travel.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified technical trainer.
Two-year degree in a related field, and/or electric and power production experience.
Journeyman status with completion of apprenticeship program.
Training in First Aid and CPR.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
Responsible to develop common adult learning styled technical training practices for the MDU Utilities Group.
Responsible to develop technical training in collaboration with safety and operations management regarding specific needs while leveraging local subject matter experts (SMEs).
Develops and coordinates technical training in all aspects of electric production distribution/transmission, operations, safety, environmental, home study, orientation, mobile dispatch and meter reading systems.
Interprets and advises field supervision of code related issues and updates.
Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
